2. Inserting the Battery
To get your camera ready for use, you must first insert the battery correctly. Proceed as follows:
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the camera.
- Insert the battery with minus to the left and plus to the right.
- Make sure the battery is seated correctly to ensure a stable power supply.

3. Loading the Film
Correct film transport is crucial for a perfect result. Here's how to load film into the camera:
- Open the camera's back cover. To do this, press the rewind lever down and push the locking lever on the underside of the camera forward. Now you can remove the back cover by holding the camera at the top and bottom and pulling it outwards.

- Fold down the pressure plate and insert the film. Make sure it is inserted all the way to the top. This prevents unwanted black borders on your images.
- Slide the film through the slot on the left, marked by three white arrows. Make sure that 2-3 perforations of the film extend beyond the slot to avoid double exposures.

4. Advancing the Film
After the film is correctly loaded, fold the pressure plate back up, turn on the camera, and follow these steps:
- Pull the winding lever 1-2 times in a smooth motion until it stops, until the film is fully advanced. Avoid jerky movements.
- Important note: Never operate the winding lever and the shutter release simultaneously!

5. Closing the Back
Once the film is loaded, you must close the back cover:
-
Apply light pressure to the top of the camera while continuously sliding the back cover upwards.

-
Then push the locking lever back to its original position.

- Look at the display: If a number without a negative sign appears, the camera is ready for use and you can start taking pictures! If minus 1 or minus 2 is displayed, you need to take one or two exposures.
6. Before Turning Off
After each shot, it is important to advance the film properly:
- Advance the film until the shutter release springs back up.
- Avoid turning off the camera while the shutter release is still pressed.
With these simple steps, you can ensure that your Rollei 35 AF is optimally prepared to take stunning analog photos. If you have any further questions about setting up or other camera functions, please visit our website or contact our customer service. Happy shooting!
