With a wealth of experience and a keen eye for light, he demonstrates how versatile and powerful the Candela 60 and 100 Bi-Color lights are. Why light is so important in every shot

Finley begins by explaining why light is the decisive foundation for every successful shot. A camera can only capture the light that is available – but what if there isn't enough of it? Here he explains the options photographers have: On the one hand, you can adjust the camera settings, such as opening the aperture to let more light onto the sensor, or increasing the ISO value to boost the sensor sensitivity.

But if the ambient light is not sufficient or you want more control over the light, LED continuous lights like the Candela series are an excellent choice.

1. Portrait shoot in nature: Flexibility outdoors

Finley's first setting was a portrait shoot in a meadow at sunset. He was able to fully exploit the mobility and ease of use of the Candela lights. With a V-mount battery adapter and matching battery, it was easy to set up the Candela 100 Bi-Color together with a reflector on a light stand quickly and easily.

A special highlight was the creative use of a red color gel, which Finley taped over the reflector to add a touch of color to the image.

Alternatively, he could have used a reflector specifically designed for color gels or even an RGB model. As dusk set in, he and his photographer friend Henry conjured up an atmospheric lighting mood. The red light was supported by a speedlight, which provided additional accents. With a folding reflector, Finley was able to control the light even better and achieve interesting effects.

After the shoot, Finley was particularly impressed by the performance of the V-mount battery, which powered the Candela 60 Bi-Color at 50% brightness for over two hours.

2. Multiple Exposure in the parking garage: Compact equipment, big impact

For the second shoot, Finley once again relied on the versatility of the Candela 100 Bi-Color. The setting this time was a parking garage, where he created impressive multiple exposures of a car. The compact design of the lights proved particularly practical here, as Finley didn't have to carry much equipment and could effortlessly integrate the batteries thanks to the Candela rails.

With a parabolic softbox including a diffuser, he provided soft, even light. He took a creative approach by moving the light around the car and taking numerous shots, which he then assembled in Photoshop to create an impressive image.

3. Home office setup: Perfect light in a small space

In the third application, Finley showed how the Candela lights can also shine in a small home office setup. Since he records tutorials and has little space and hardly any natural light available, he was looking for a solution that would optimally illuminate his office without taking up much space.

Here, the Candela lights were used together with a softbox and small LUMIS lights. This setup proved ideal for confined spaces, as it provided even illumination without taking up too much space. Finley demonstrated how to achieve professional results even in cramped conditions with a compact yet powerful lighting solution.
