We had our Fotoliner Ocean Pro, the largest backpack in our new series, tested by someone who knows what such a backpack needs to offer. Professional photographer Sebastian Nagel from Kaiserslautern put the backpack made from recycled plastic through an extensive test and shared his experiences with us on the blog.
What do you particularly like about the backpack?
The new Fotoliner Ocean Pro from Rollei, with its compact shape combined with plenty of storage space, is the perfect companion for my photo trips. Whether I want to take cameras, lenses, a laptop, or a tripod, everything fits inside. Thanks to the integrated USB port, my smartphone can be charged super conveniently via a power bank, which is extremely practical for my daily Instagram presence. I find the fact that the backpack is recycled from 49 0.5L PET bottles particularly sensible and well thought out.

Which feature will definitely be useful to you on your excursions?
A wonderful and practical feature of the new Fotoliner Ocean Pro is, of course, the rain cover. On my outdoor portrait trips, as the name suggests, I am constantly out in nature. If a sudden rain shower should occur, I am perfectly prepared and can protect my equipment from moisture in an instant. How do you find the material?
The backpack's craftsmanship is very high quality and the material feels extremely robust. As a photographer, you do everything for the shot, and then you naturally bump into trees or rocks, crawl through bushes, or slide down a gravel path from time to time. The Fotoliner Ocean Pro takes all of that with ease. Of course, the backpack gives you a great feeling, because you're carrying 49 recycled plastic bottles on your back and simply doing something good for nature.

What are you looking forward to with the backpack?
Most of all, I'm looking forward to traveling again with the backpack. Especially flying with it. My entire equipment fits perfectly in my carry-on, and I never thought that so much storage space was even possible in such a compact size.
