When it comes to environmental pollution, we want to be part of a change. So that plastic no longer ends up in our oceans, but is recycled into useful products. For our nature, for animals and plants, for our children and grandchildren, for the world's oceans.
To give you a better idea of the product and our ambitions, we have listed some questions:

15. How well are the backpacks padded?
1. What is so special about the new "Fotoliner Ocean" series?
First of all: sustainability should not just be a trend for us. We try to contribute as much as possible to a green future, both internally and externally. The "Fotoliner Ocean" series is another important step in this direction for us. All models are largely made from recycled plastic bottles. In the recycling process, 0.5-liter plastic bottles are processed into plastic granulate. This granulate then serves as the basis for the fabric from which the backpacks are made. And the good thing about it: the backpacks are in no way inferior to conventional Fotoliner backpacks.
2. Where are the backpacks manufactured?
Our backpacks are produced in China under fair working conditions.
3. What is meant by CO₂ compensation?
CO2 compensation balances the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere so that increased greenhouse gas emissions elsewhere have a net effect of 0. For example, let's say a truck releases 150 g of CO2 per kilometer and forest conservation measures remove 150 g of CO2 from the atmosphere. If CO2 compensation is purchased that supports forest conservation for every kilometer a truck travels, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere remains unchanged. To offset the CO2 emissions of shipments delivered to you, we use an industry model with "Offset" that determines the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere for each delivery. From this, an amount per delivery is calculated. We at Rollei bear these costs for each individual order.
But that's not enough for us. Because our commitment to environmental protection should go beyond recycling and CO2 compensation. That's why we support the organization "Ozeankind". Through its projects, children around the world are educated about why the environment needs to be protected. For every backpack sold, "Ozeankind" receives a donation of 5 euros from us.
4. What fits into the backpacks?
As with our other Fotoliner backpacks, all models can be individually divided. The main camera compartment can be designed absolutely flexibly. To do this, you simply have to restructure the movable dividers, which are equipped with Velcro. The main camera compartment can be accessed from the back, which also better protects your equipment from theft. Depending on the model, there is space in the backpack for up to three DSLR or DSLM cameras, as well as up to three lenses and other camera accessories.
5. Do the backpacks fit as carry-on luggage when traveling by plane?
The "Fotoliner Ocean" Slingbag, M, Pro and Mini definitely do. For the "Fotoliner Ocean" L, it depends on the airline. It is accepted by most airlines, but its dimensions put it in the borderline range.
6. Are the backpacks waterproof?
The backpacks themselves are splash-proof. The zippers of the "Fotoliner Ocean" backpacks are also waterproof. If you need more protection against weather conditions during your travels, you can easily do so with the rain cover stored at the bottom of the backpack. This is included free of charge with all "Fotoliner Ocean" backpacks.
7. How do I attach my tripod to the backpacks?
Tripods can also be accommodated in two different ways with the "Fotoliner Ocean" models. One option is to attach the tripod to the back. There is a loop at the bottom of the backpack. Simply pull it out and attach the legs of the tripod to it. Then attach the upper part of the tripod to the backpack with the clip. Alternatively, you can attach the tripod to the side of the backpack. How you do it is a matter of taste.

8. Do the backpacks have quick camera access?
Yes, all "Fotoliner Ocean" backpacks have quick camera access.
9. Why are the backpacks opened from the back?
10. How does the Fotoliner Ocean Slingbag work?
One of the special features of this camera backpack is its single shoulder strap, which allows for individuality and flexibility. The backpack can be worn diagonally over both the left and right shoulder. This gives you quick access to your compartments at all times. To access the contents, the slingbag can simply be pulled forward.
11. What is the purpose of the hip belt?
The hip belt on the "Fotoliner Ocean" M, L and Pro has three functions. First, it takes weight off the shoulders and shifts it to the hips. The second function: storage space for other items - a small zipper for bills or cards. And third, it also serves as a stabilization point to pull the backpack forward. Then you have more or less a "hawker's tray" and can easily change your lens in the backpack.
12. Which size is right for me?
In general, it depends on the scope of your equipment - for smaller equipment, the Mini or Slingbag are ideal. For medium equipment, the Model M is suitable, and for large equipment, the Model L or Model Pro. More detailed information on sizes can be found on the individual product pages.

13. Do the backpacks have a laptop or tablet compartment?
All backpacks have a laptop or tablet compartment.
Here is a list of the individual sizes:
- Fotoliner Ocean M + L: Laptop compartment for devices up to 13 inches and a separate tablet compartment
- Pro: Laptop/tablet compartment for devices up to 13 inches and a separate tablet compartment.
- Slingbag: Laptop/tablet compartment for devices up to 11 inches
- Mini: Laptop/tablet compartment for devices up to 7.9 inches
14. Can the backpacks also be used as normal backpacks when accessories are not needed?
Yes, that is possible. With all "Fotoliner Ocean" models, the dividers can be adjusted using the Velcro fasteners. It is possible to completely remove the dividers for everyday use.
15. How well are the backpacks padded?
A special feature of the backpacks is the extremely good padding of the shoulder straps and the back. This will particularly benefit you on long tours and is very important there. Our backpack shoulder straps are very wide, so that the load is distributed over large parts of the back. The padding on the back is exceptionally thick and breathable, making the backpack comfortable to wear.
