Rollei presents popular carbon tripod series in its third generation
Rollei has further developed the popular "Rock Solid" tripod series with a special focus on the tripod heads. The new tripod heads of the Rock Solid Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Mark III feature an integrated two-way notch and three rotary knobs, for example, for individually and easily adjustable damping. The Rock Solid series was specially designed for travel and nature photographers, as it guarantees maximum stability and extremely high load capacity in any weather. All tripods of the third generation are available now.
Norderstedt, 12.04.2022. Following the great success of the versatile and extremely robust Rock Solid tripods, Rollei is now launching a significantly improved usability, new tripod heads, and numerous detailed optimizations with the further developed third generation.
The carbon tripods of the Mark III series are available in the familiar four versions: with the Rock Solid Alpha XL Mark III you have a maximum working height of 195 centimeters with a maximum load capacity of 40 kilograms. The smaller Rock Solid Alpha Mark III allows a working height of up to 167.5 centimeters with a maximum load capacity of up to 30 kilograms. The smallest models in the series, the Rock Solid Beta Mark III and the Rock Solid Gamma Mark III, guarantee a working height of up to 178.5 and 162.5 centimeters respectively with the integrated center column. The compact tripods can also support a maximum load capacity of 24 and 18 kilograms respectively.
As usual, the successors, the Rock Solid Alpha, Beta and Gamma Mark III, also come with an extremely durable new tripod head. An integrated two-way notch has been incorporated into the sophisticated design of the ball heads, allowing even more creative freedom for shots. The three rotary knobs on the ball head allow precise adjustment of the head; in particular, the damping can be easily adjusted to individual preferences via its own locking knob. Especially designed for the Rock Solid Alpha XL is the included and integrated leveling head with 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch connections for aligning the horizontal plane.
The smaller models, consisting of the Rock Solid Gamma Mark III and the larger Rock Solid Beta Mark III, can still be converted into a monopod if required. Macro photographers can also benefit from the reversible and short center column to get as close as possible to ground-level subjects. All tripods offer, in addition to their strong load capacity, simplified leg angle locking, a spirit level in the tripod shoulder, and 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch threads for attaching accessories if needed.
The successors are specially designed for outdoor use, and even use in sand, salt water and snow cannot harm them thanks to screw-off rubber feet and spikes. All tripods still have smooth-running leg locks.
