No creative shooting location available right now? No problem. Our photographer Seb Nagel from Kaiserslautern shows you how to transform your own home into a photo studio with minimal effort. In various blog posts, we've already presented some creative solutions from Seb Nagel. Now we want to present four more of his great ideas.

Behind the Scene Shooting Seb Nagel

Setup and Equipment

Set 1

"To spice up the white wall in the garage, we decided to hang a transparent garden film on the garage door's track. This allowed us to create very subtle color reflections, which ultimately better matched the colorful illumination of the model, and we avoided a sterile background," Nagel explains.

To illuminate or highlight model Juliane Denzer with three colors, he used a Rollei Lumen Stick from the back left, with its LEDs set to orange. From the front left, our Lumen Ring RGB shone in Cyan, and from the front right, another Lumen Ring RGB in Magenta. In this way, the photographer created the exciting double ring reflection in the model's eyes.

Set 2

For this setup, Sebastian Nagel didn't use a Lumen Ring, but rather two Lumen Sticks, one of which shone in blue from the left, and the other in red from the right. And here too, the film was attached in the background.

Set 3

For this set, Juliane was wrapped in the film, which was also used as the background. Here too, Nagel worked with two Lumen Sticks (blue/magenta and blue/red).

Set 4

Here, Juliane is lying on the floor, wrapped in the film. Again, the Lumen Sticks in magenta and blue served him well. However, blue is directed more towards the film to enhance the background a bit. Additionally, Nagel explains that for Sets 2-4, he used the Soluna II-60 to generally brighten the garage. As a passive light source, so to speak.

You see: even with fewer resources, fantastic photos can be achieved. Let us inspire you!

Note: Please note that the Lumen Stick RGB depicted in the photos is the previous version without an integrated and non-removable handle. The technical specifications of the new model with an integrated handle are identical. You can use the new Lumen Stick RGB for a photoshoot in the same way described and shown here.
