Photography is an art that requires not only talent but also the right equipment. An experienced photographer knows that, in addition to the camera, the accessories are also crucial for achieving the perfect shot. That's why we teamed up with Fabio Santacroce, an experienced outdoor and lifestyle photographer.

He thoroughly tested our Fotoliner Ocean Pro and the F:X Pro Filter Holder Mark III at various locations. In this article, you can find out what he particularly liked about the products and why he wouldn't want to be without them in the future.

Fabio Santacroce is a passionate photographer from Saarland who loves nature and the mountains. His pictures are characterized by a perfect blend of detailed and wide-angle shots, which create an atmospheric series. His main focus is on outdoor and lifestyle photography as well as videography.

For the practical test, the photographer visited three different locations: the Biodiversum in Luxembourg, the Saarschleife in Orscholz, and a lake in Bludenz, Vorarlberg. The aim of the individual shoots was to test the two products in different situations and see how they performed in use.

The first impression of the equipment

For the shoot, Fabio used his Sony Alpha 7 III camera and a selection of lenses with focal lengths of 27-75 mm, 17-28 mm, and 85 mm. In addition to the F:X Pro Master Kit Rectangular Filter Mark III, he opted for the Fotoliner Ocean Pro in Grey to transport his equipment safely and comfortably.

Even when first unboxed, the Fotoliner Ocean Pro impressed. "The camera backpack is very well made and offers sufficient storage space for camera, lenses, accessories, and personal items," says Fabio.

The F:X Pro Master Kit Rectangular Filter Mark III, consisting of three different ND filters (neutral density filters) with different strengths and a CPL filter (polarizing filter), also made a good first impression. The filters and the filter holder of the latest generation are of high quality workmanship and are easy to attach and remove. Both are indispensable accessories for the photographer for long exposures and help to reduce disturbing reflections, for example on bodies of water.

Various locations with different challenges for our equipment

As mentioned at the outset, the photographer used three different locations, each offering a special highlight for his test. The Biodiversum in Luxembourg provided the perfect backdrop for long exposures, while the Saarschleife in Orscholz offered a breathtaking panorama. The lake in Bludenz, Vorarlberg, was a real highlight and convinced with a beautiful atmosphere for the shooting.

However, the challenge at the different locations was the same: finding the right light and the appropriate mood for the shots. Fabio had to return several times to achieve the perfect picture. The goal of every shoot is to translate a vision or concept into a concrete visual implementation. This can help to optimally showcase a product or service. Thanks to the filter set from Rollei, he was able to achieve excellent results even in unfavorable lighting conditions. In addition, it offered Fabio the optimal opportunity to focus on the use of filters and long exposures.

The results of the shoot are, as Fabio and we agree, impressive. "The use of filters and long exposures has helped to make the results even more professional and impressive," the photographer adds. He also adds: "During the shoot, I was able to use most of my camera settings as usual. The RAW images were already of high quality, but I was able to add my own touch to the images through editing."

The photographer's conclusion

Overall, the shoot and the test were a success for Fabio. With the support of the camera backpack and the filters, he can make his work easier. For example, the high-quality workmanship and the ample storage space make transporting the equipment incredibly easy, without having to do without individual accessories. In addition, there is also the high wearing comfort, so that even with a full backpack, the weight could be carried well. "The camera compartment is well padded and allows quick and easy access to the camera. Perfect for quick snapshots," says Fabio.

The rectangular filter set was also not only easy to attach but also convinced with its well-thought-out workmanship. Fabio was able to test all possible filter combinations, from polarizing filters to graduated filters, and thus improve his long exposure skills. For him, it was great to see how the use of filters could improve the colors and contrasts of his shots.
