Rollei introduces two new on-camera flashes for the HS Freeze series: The HS Freeze Portable & HS Freeze Portable PRO
They are equipped with a flash output of 80 watt-seconds, adjustable in 9 f-stops, and a multi-compatible hot shoe or the Sony Multi-Interface Shoe. The HS Freeze Portable features a rectangular flash head, ideal for beginners, while the HS Freeze Portable Pro comes with a round flash head for even softer illumination. Both flashes weigh only 500 grams and feature a 2.4-gigahertz remote trigger, 31 channels and 6 groups for settings, as well as an integrated modeling light. Additionally, various modes and synchronization modes are included for maximum flexibility.
Norderstedt, 12.07.2023. Rollei proudly presents two new on-camera flashes for the HS-Freeze series. The flash series is characterized by its impressive performance, fast recycling times, and versatile application possibilities. The two new models, the HS Freeze Portable and the HS Freeze Portable PRO, continue this tradition and complement the already available HS Freeze 1s on-camera flash.
Due to its compact design with a rectangular flash head and a rectangular flash tube, the HS Freeze Portable provides powerful and centered illumination. All settings can be conveniently made via the LCD display and the clear control buttons. For even more comfort and softer illumination, the HS Freeze Portable PRO is equipped with a round flash head and a rectangular flash tube. Here too, the device is set directly via the integrated color LCD display and the buttons on the back.
The Portable models are equipped with a flash output of 80 watt-seconds, adjustable in 9 f-stops, and a guide number of 60. Thanks to the multi-compatible hot shoe, the new products are seamlessly compatible with cameras from Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, and Olympus. A separately available version of both models with a Sony Multi-Interface Shoe enables use with the Sony camera system without an additional adapter.
Despite their low weight of 500 grams, both flashes are equipped with a 2.4-gigahertz remote trigger. This ensures seamless triggering of other HS-Freeze or studio flashes or, in slave mode, use with compatible Rollei remote triggers. To avoid interference with other devices during shoots, settings can be divided across the 31 channels and 6 groups. An ideal setup of the scene is made playfully easy with the integrated three-watt modeling light, which is adjustable in three steps.
Like the HS Freeze 1s on-camera flash, the new Portable models feature the Speedlite, Master, and manual modes in addition to the slave mode. In terms of synchronization modes, HSS, TTL, synchronization to the 1st/2nd curtain, and Freeze mode are available. The flash durations of up to 1/50,000 seconds in Freeze mode and the recycling time of a maximum of 1.5 seconds ensure quick readiness at a color temperature of 5,500 Kelvin.
Thanks to the powerful and rechargeable lithium-ion battery with 2,500 milliampere-hours, the Portable and Portable PRO flash is available for over 500 flashes on a full charge. In addition to the replaceable battery, the scope of delivery includes a practical carrying bag for optimal protection, a charger with a USB-C cable, and a cold shoe stand.
