Rollei presents new versatile macro focusing rail
With the macro focusing rail, Rollei introduces an indispensable product for every precision-working macro photographer. Thanks to the Arca-Swiss system, the new lightweight rail can be quickly attached to many tripod heads or simply mounted on a 1/4-inch screw. And if that's not enough, the macro rail can also simply stand on its own four feet. The advantages of the robust macro rail are particularly evident in the popular focus stacking technique.
Norderstedt, 16.02.2022. Photo accessories manufacturer Rollei presents a macro focusing rail, which is aimed primarily at macro photographers, but also videographers. The flagship feature of the new macro focusing rail is its versatility. This is guaranteed by the Arca-Swiss system, which allows it to be used with all common ball heads.
The macro focusing rail is robustly built and therefore suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. With a low net weight of just 410 grams and a rail length of almost 19 centimeters, the macro focusing rail can fit into any backpack, even on trips with light luggage. The rail itself convinces with a maximum load capacity of 8 kilograms. The attached feet can be flexibly removed with a few simple steps.
The heart of the macro focusing rail is the smooth and precise crank thread. The sensitivity can be adjusted to always achieve the desired result for focus stacking. This makes it easy to find the foremost focal point of an object. Depending on the size and type of lens used, the sensitivity of the crank thread is adjusted so that a complete coverage of the focus range is guaranteed with just a few turns. By subsequently combining (stacking) the individual images using an image editing program, an image is created that is maximally sharp in all areas.
