Compact studio flash HS Freeze 2s & Softbox range
Addition to successful flash series: Rollei launches ultra-compact studio flash HS Freeze 2s and new softbox range.
Hamburg/Norderstedt, 19.03.2021 – With the new flash, Rollei's photography professionals placed great emphasis on its compactness. Weighing only 785 grams, the new HS Freeze 2s is therefore particularly light, which simplifies transport to shooting locations.
However, it is not only its low weight that stands out positively, but also its power of 200 watt-seconds, which is adjustable in nine f-stops. It also includes various flash modes (M, TTL) and synchronization modes (Normal, HSS, synchronization to 1st / 2nd shutter curtain, Freeze).
The new mobile studio flash impresses with TTL, HSS, and Freeze and is aimed primarily at professional photographers who want to take high-quality shots on location or in the studio – but also at anyone who needs daylight-like light. The flash has a color temperature of 5,500 Kelvin (M, TTL).
The HS Freeze 2s comes with a flash duration of up to 1/20,000 seconds in Freeze mode and a recycling time of a maximum of 1.3 seconds. It also features a sync port, EasyCap, and Delay, as well as the ability to upload a firmware upgrade. Its 32 channels can be divided into 16 groups, so pre-set lighting setups are no problem. The flash also has a 5-watt LED modeling light, which can be triggered using an integrated radio receiver and has a range of 100 meters. Its versatile camera compatibility also sets it apart.
The flash receives power either from its lithium-ion battery – which allows more than 450 flashes – or from the separately available power supply unit.
The compact housing has a connection for Freeze-2s light shapers. With the practical Bowens S-type adapter, numerous other options arise for using light shapers with a Bowens mount.
A new softbox series called Klick softboxes is also available!
The softbox is the ideal accent light for fashion, portrait, and fashion photography, and set-up is absolutely easy. This is because the light shapers, which are also available as striplights, softboxes, beauty dishes or octaboxes, have a practical click mechanism. Extend the rods until they click into place, assemble – done!
Soft, high-contrast light with harder shadows comes from the silver interior of the light shaper. Diffused light is provided by the translucent diffusers, which are easy to attach to the softbox. The inner diffuser reduces the creation of a brighter light area in the center of the image (hotspot). The outer diffuser creates an enlarged illuminated area and spreads the light further. For precise illumination of the desired subject, a grid is included in the scope of delivery of each softbox. With their Bowens S-type bayonet, the new light shapers fit many studio flashes, battery studio flashes, and LED continuous lights. For perfect alignment of the light shapers, the speed ring can be rotated 360 degrees.
