Two particularly innovative continuous lights are the new flagships from the photography professionals at Rollei from Norderstedt near Hamburg. The clever feature of these devices: this time, Rollei is launching two continuous lights of different strengths that can be separated. This means that, for example, the light head can be mounted on the ceiling of a photo location, while the continuous light's control box is on the floor and can be operated from there.

Norderstedt, 24.03.2021. Two particularly innovative continuous lights are the new flagships from the photography professionals at Rollei. The clever feature of these devices: this time, Rollei is launching two continuous lights of different strengths, consisting of a continuous light and a control box, and are thus separable.
This means that photographers and videographers can, for example, mount the light head on the ceiling of a photo location, while the continuous light's control box is on the floor and can be operated from there.

The lights come in 300 and 500 watts, and their names are derived accordingly. The Soluna 300 Pro continuous light at 300 watts is the smaller sibling of the 500 Pro, both offering a daylight-like color temperature of 5500 K as well as five different light effects, each with ten frequencies, which are absolutely ideal for video recordings. The CRI (Color Rendering Index) of the lights is over 97, and the TLCI (Television Lighting Consistency Index), a key figure for evaluating light quality, is over 98. However, the illuminance of the devices is also remarkable. The Soluna 500 Pro comes with a reflector and achieves 357,000 lux at 0.5 meters. Depending on the required illuminance, the Soluna 300 Pro achieves 207,000 lux, also supplied with a reflector.

Light setups for both devices can be divided into 32 channels and 16 groups, which simplifies the preparation of individual shoots. In addition, the devices can be operated with the Soluna Remote Control and also feature DMX-512 control.

The continuous lights are sold as a set consisting of a light head and a control box with practical accessories. Another special feature: the lights can not only be controlled via the control box but also via the "Rollei Studio" smartphone app.

They can be powered by a mains adapter and battery, with V-Mount batteries not included in the scope of delivery – but can be purchased separately. A wide range of light modifiers can also be used thanks to the Bowens S-Type bayonet, promising maximum compatibility.
