First speedlight for the successful HS Freeze series

HS Freeze 1s with wide camera compatibility and integrated 2.4 GHz radio trigger

With the new HS Freeze 1s, photo accessories manufacturer Rollei expands its successful Freeze flash series. The shoe mount flash is equipped with an integrated 2.4 GHz radio trigger, which is seamlessly compatible with other Freeze flashes and Rollei's own radio triggers. Particularly attractive is its wide compatibility with many popular camera manufacturers (Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, and Olympus) and with Sony cameras via a separately available adapter. With a flash output of 80 watt-seconds, adjustable in 9 f-stops, and a guide number of 60, the HS Freeze 1s offers great flexibility in any scenario.

Norderstedt, September 14, 2022. We are expanding the successful HS Freeze flash family with the first shoe mount flash. The new HS Freeze 1s is seamlessly compatible with cameras from Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, and Olympus. A separately available adapter also makes it possible to use it with the Sony camera system. Equipped with a flash output of 80 watt-seconds, adjustable in 9 f-stops, it offers flexibility and power in a portable format.

Particular emphasis was placed on the compactness of the new HS Freeze 1s shoe mount flash. This powerhouse weighs only 460 grams without a battery, making it exceptionally light. Despite its low weight, the shoe mount flash features an integrated 2.4 GHz radio trigger. This serves for seamless triggering of other Freeze flashes or for use with compatible Rollei radio triggers in slave mode.

For maximum flexibility, the HS Freeze 1s features not only slave mode but also Speedlite, master, and manual modes. In addition, the flash offers the following synchronization modes: HSS, TTL, 1st/2nd curtain sync, and Freeze. The HS Freeze 1s boasts a flash duration of up to 1/50,000 seconds in Freeze mode and a recycling time of a maximum of 1.5 seconds at a color temperature of 5,500 Kelvin. To avoid interference with other devices during shoots, settings can be distributed across 31 channels and 6 groups. The selected settings can be conveniently checked and adjusted at any time via the 2.8-inch touchscreen.

Additional flexibility for creative settings and remote trigger operation is provided by the integrated 1/4-inch connector on the outside of the HS Freeze 1s and the included cold shoe stand. The necessary power for the flash is supplied by the lithium-polymer battery, which has a capacity of 1,600 milliampere-hours. This allows for up to 450 flashes on a single battery charge. In addition to the replaceable battery, the scope of delivery includes a practical carrying bag for optimal protection, as well as a bounce card and a charger with a charging cable.

The new HS Freeze 1s comes with a variety of accessories for breathtaking shooting situations. The HS Freeze 1s Softball can create particularly "soft" light. Furthermore, with the accessory set, creativity knows no bounds. This includes six different color attachments that can be easily and conveniently attached to the Rollei shoe mount flash with an included adapter. The also included honeycomb grid, which can be combined with the color attachments, offers an additional option for harder and more directional light. The separately available Bowens adapter enables the use of other light shapers with Bowens S-Type mount in no time and facilitates operation as a slave flash via remote trigger.
