Video: The New Lumen PRO RGB Continuous Lights

Before we launched the two versions of the Lumen Pro, we asked Stephan Wiesner to test the lights for us. And – what can we say. While he was initially a little uncertain whether he should really test them, as he already uses many continuous lights, he now uses them almost every day, as he explains.

Our powerful Lumen Pro RGB continuous lights already have numerous fans, including professional photographer Stephan Wiesner. Before we launched the two versions of the Lumen Pro, we asked him to test the lights for us. And – what can we say. While he was initially a little uncertain whether he should really test them, as he already uses many continuous lights, he now uses them almost every day, as he explains.

He made a YouTube video about his test, in which he demonstrates, for example, how he uses the green light of the lamps in product photography. He illuminates the wall behind the product to be photographed, which creates a fantastic color accent.

Regarding photography, Wiesner explains that he was also able to use the lamps very effectively when he photographed a model on the studio floor. During the shoot, a cozy, warm light in the shape of a window was projected onto the wall next to the model, creating the impression that a few warm rays of evening sun were falling into a living room.

The model itself was then also illuminated in warm tones with the Lumen Pro, which served as the main light. Wiesner benefited from the fact that he could easily adjust the color temperature, he explains. 

He also emphasizes that he can always see his results directly with the Lumen Pro and immediately adjust the color temperature. A flash, he explains, is flexible and very powerful, but

Controllable via app

OurLumen Pro RGB can be operated not only on the device itself, but also with our app called 'Rollei Lumen'. The professional photographer explains that you can also simply operate the lights simultaneously with the app. This means that you can set colors, transitions and temperatures for both lamps at the same time.
Wiesner is also positively surprised by the long power cable, because he finds that power outlets are always in the wrong place in the room, if in doubt. But don't worry: We have a particularly good solution for this too. You can optionally purchase V-mount batteries and V-mount charging cables, so you don't have to worry about where the next power outlet is.

CONCLUSION

Wiesner's conclusion: "We really like working with them a lot, and because the practical carrying case is included, we'll certainly often take them with us for on-location shoots."
