How to achieve particularly colorful product photos

THE FINAL PHOTO

For all those who now have the time to implement some new photo ideas, we have great inspiration. We will show you a super simple photo setup to recreate step by step, explain the setup, and, of course, discuss what accessories you need for it.

What you need:

• Acrylic glass
• Clamps
• Lumen Pocket RGB
• Diffuser
• Object to be photographed, for example, a long drink
• Camera

What we want to achieve here are two things. We want to give the glass a particularly beautiful colored background so that it can make an even more impressive appearance. And secondly, we want to create a reflection under the glass, which gives the image an interesting polish as another component.

SETUP

• Acrylic glass & Diffuser:

  The acrylic glass, which like the diffuser is easily available from online retailers, forms the base for the object you want to photograph – in this case, it's a glass of gin and tonic with ice cubes and lime.

• Clamps:

  Take the clamps (also available online) and attach them to the left and right of the diffuser, then place the acrylic glass plate on the part of the clamps that slightly protrudes over the diffuser. Then place the object on the acrylic glass plate so that you can later see the reflection of the object well in the picture.

• Lumen Pocket RGB for amazing color accents:

  In the next step, take our new handy Lumen Pocket RGB LED lights and place them behind the diffuser. This way, the light shines from behind onto the object and brings out its contours, creating a wonderful color accentuation around the object. This is also possible with just a single light, so you would only achieve one color. We opted for two Lumen Pocket RGBs at this point, so we are able to combine two colors.

• Object:

  In our case, the glass was filled in the next step. To make the picture even better, it is advisable to keep the surroundings as dark as possible. So: close the blinds, draw the curtains, and let's go. In our case, the Lumen Pocket RGBs were then set to 100 percent and thus put all their power into illuminating the crystal glass. By the way, our Lumen Pocket can also be easily controlled via smartphone with our Lumen app.
