In his latest product video, professional photographer and photo trainer Frank Fischer introduces the Soluna 200Bi continuous light from Rollei. He says: "You have to be very clear, it's a really nice, high-quality product. The housing is made of metal at the top and bottom, which is really helpful because it's really stable," he explains. Especially on a set, things sometimes have to happen quickly, he says. And sometimes you can get caught on a cable, causing lights to fall over and break.

Easy operation of the continuous light

What he also likes is the fact that the control panel is located on the side. He likes this factor because control panels on other lights are often located at the back of the device. This, in turn, creates the difficulty that if the lamp stand is set a little higher, it is difficult (or only possible with a ladder) to reach the light.
In this context, Frank Fischer is also very impressed by the Soluna remote controls, which can be used with the Soluna Bi-Color continuous light.

The Rollei-own remote controls are also suitable for this – for example, the Professional Radio Trigger Mark II. Control via app is also possible, as Fischer emphasizes again. And he also mentions the fan button, which ensures that you have more power available because the fan actively cools the light down.

LED continuous light with Bowens mount and protective cap

The video also explains particularly well the use with the Bowens mount and the use of light shapers. And in doing so, Frank Fischer has a very important tip for users of the LED continuous light. Namely, that the cap that is on the lamp when delivered must be removed beforehand. Because although the common belief is that LEDs do not get hot – they do in the long run. So always remove the protective cap.

Different light modes

Of course, photographer Fischer also discusses the setting options of the Soluna continuous light, which perfectly illustrates the possibilities the lamp offers. He also shows, for example, the use via app, which works completely without problems.

Towards the end of the informative video, one sentence from Frank Fischer in particular sticks in mind: "Power is not what's lacking – so there's more than enough light."
