1. Does the backpack fit in carry-on luggage when traveling by plane?

The Slingbag and Fotoliner M definitely do. With the Fotoliner L, it depends on the airline. Most airlines accept it, but its dimensions are at the limit. However, the camera backpack should always fit in your carry-on. Because the worst thing you can do is check your camera equipment when traveling by plane. It can be damaged or stolen. Passports, laptops, cameras and the like should always be in your carry-on – that way you can be sure they will arrive with you.

2. Is the backpack waterproof?

The seams are waterproof. The backpack itself is splash-proof. If you need even more protection, there's also a rain cover included. There's a small integrated pocket at the bottom of the backpack where the rain cover is stored. You can take it out and pull it over the backpack. If you get caught in the rain with the backpack, you don't have to worry at first. It would take a lot of rain for the backpack to become permeable. But it only becomes truly rainproof with the cover. On a photo tour through the rainforest, you should definitely use a rain cover, and it's included.

3. What camera equipment fits in the backpack?

That depends on the backpack. A camera with a lens fits in the sling bag. You would also have room for two more lenses, as long as they are not necessarily telephoto lenses. Then also for accessories like filters, filter holders, remote releases, lens hoods, or spare batteries. Of course, it always depends on what kind of tour you want to do. A sling bag is perfect for a city trip, because you can take your tripod with you and also the accessories mentioned. As soon as you want to take a telephoto lens with you, you should opt for the Fotoliner M. There you can easily store your remaining accessories.

4. How do I attach my tripod to the backpack?

There is a flap at the bottom of the backpack that is a bit hidden. You have to pull it out. You put two of the three tripod legs in there and attach the tripod at the top with a clip. Then just tighten it and it's attached.

5. Does the backpack have quick access?

Yes, all three backpacks have that.

6. Why is the backpack opened from the back?

This only applies to the Fotoliner M and L. They can only be opened from the back, which provides even more security. If they could be opened from the front, a pickpocket might be able to get to them unnoticed.

7. How does the sling bag work?

Sling means to throw in English. It's called that because you throw the sling bag forward to access its contents. It has a normal strap and an additional stabilizing strap that goes diagonally from the shoulder across the chest. That's why it can be pulled under the shoulder to the chest. Then you swing it back and can secure everything again.

8. What is the hip belt for?

The hip belt on the Fotoliner M and L has three functions. It takes weight off the shoulders and transfers it to the hips. The second function: storage space for other items – a small zipper pocket for banknotes or cards. It also serves as a stabilization point, like with the sling bag, to pull the backpack forward. Then you have more or less a belly tray and can simply change your lens in the backpack.

9. Does the backpack have a rain cover?

The Classic camera bag is made of robust material, and the overlapping top flap provides good protection for the camera. It will certainly withstand light and, above all, short showers. But it is not designed for a continuous march in the rain. A rain cover is not included here and is also not available for optional purchase.

10. Are the zippers waterproof?

Yes, the zippers are waterproof.

11. Can I protect my camera from unauthorized access when I'm wearing it?

In principle, it is already protected. Access cannot go unnoticed. Additionally, the zippers can be secured with a lock.

12. What size is right for me?

That depends entirely on your build. The Fotoliner L can be too large for some people. It takes up the entire back and even extends beyond it, so it's more suitable for taller individuals, but of course, it fits an incredible amount. Overall, it can be said that customers of average height will not go wrong with the Fotoliner M.

13.  Does the backpack have a laptop or tablet compartment?

All backpacks have a laptop compartment. For M and L, laptops up to 15 inches fit. The sling bag is not designed for laptops. This is about having a very small backpack where you only store small equipment, so it's the classic daypack. Here, it's not assumed that you want to take your laptop with you, as you can view your photos at home in the evening. However, a small tablet can be stored in the sling bag.

14. What sizes are available?

We have the Fotoliner series in our range, as well as some models from the Vintage line, which is more intended for smaller equipment. The Fotoliner series is the alternative for larger equipment.

15. Can the backpack also be used as a regular backpack when camera accessories are not needed?

Yes, that is possible. In the Fotoliner M, L, and the Slingbag, there are adjustable dividers. You can also remove them completely, so you are able to use the backpack normally.

16. How well padded are the shoulder straps?

A special feature of the backpacks are extremely well-padded shoulder straps. This is very noticeable on long tours and is also very important there. Our shoulder straps are very wide, so the load is distributed over large parts of the back. The padding is also particularly thick, so the backpack is comfortable to wear. Especially if you also have a hip belt.
