Every year, professional photographer Guido Karp organizes his Masterclass: Los Angeles photo workshop, where 16 photographers accompany him to his "secret hideaways" for a week. This time, his long-time friend David Mecey from Las Vegas, known for his many photo works for Playboy magazine, was also present. Mecey was accompanied by a video camera during his shoot, which he did with flashes from Rollei.
In the video, which, as Guido Karp amusedly reports, takes place in a messy garage, Mecey expresses how thrilled he is with the Rollei flashes. He also explains his lighting setup, where he flashes the model from the front left with the Rollei beauty dish to get some light on the face.
He also installed three more Rollei flashes with standard reflectors on the set. One that flashes the model from the back right, brightening the hair slightly. Another one behind the model in an old Rolls Royce, illuminating the car's ceiling, and yet another one that flashes the model from the back left and is positioned particularly high.
In addition, David Mecey uses a useful gadget during his shoot – a so-called Hoodloupe (also known as a display magnifier). This allows him to shield light when viewing his photos on the camera display in bright light and also to enlarge the image.

Mecey then smilingly expresses his enthusiasm for Rollei flashes in the video, saying: "They really blow me away. You should also get Rollei flashes. If you have the chance, buy them." We are, of course, absolutely delighted with such praise and send greetings to Las Vegas.
