The mirrorless Nikon Z-system has been one of the most popular camera systems since its introduction. Rollei, together with Viltrox, is now introducing a new lens with Nikon Z-mount with the 50-millimeter focal length. The standard focal length is characterized by its natural perspective and fast autofocus.

Norderstedt, 03.03.2022. With the Viltrox AF 50 mm F/1.8 Z Nikon, photo accessory manufacturer Rollei presents a new full-frame lens for the popular Nikon Z series. With a close focusing distance of just 55 centimeters and a low weight of 390 grams, the Viltrox lens with Nikon Z-mount is suitable for almost all photographic challenges. Compatibility with Nikon's fast eye-autofocus and the option to focus manually guarantee razor-sharp and quickly focused images in any lighting situation.

The versatility of the standard focal length results from the fact that the image section of a lens with a focal length of 50 millimeters comes closest to human vision. This allows for intuitive and quick composition of images in reportage, travel, or portrait photography. Also interesting: the silent STM focus motor. This primarily benefits videographers, as it avoids disturbing noises.

The new lens is equipped with a high aperture of f/1.8. Owners of compatible Nikon full-frame cameras thus benefit from easy subject isolation and it allows for particularly beautiful bokeh, which is very popular in portraits.

At the request of many photographers, Viltrox has equipped the new lens with an aperture ring, which allows easy and intuitive access to aperture adjustment when photographing and filming. The new camera lens with Nikon Z-mount thus becomes a versatile companion that gives creatives in many areas all creative freedom.

Thanks to its own USB interface, users can improve the lens with new firmware updates and thus ensure that the prime lens always delivers the desired performance in the future. As is known from other lenses from the established manufacturer Viltrox, the Viltrox AF 50 mm F/1.8 Z Nikon also relies on optical elements with state-of-the-art coating that prevents reflections, flares, or ghosting.
