F:X Pro Round Filter Soft GND8

To be even more flexible and compact on the go, we now also offer our F:X Pro soft graduated neutral density filter Soft GND8 as a round filter. GND stands for graduated neutral density. Just like the rectangular F:X Pro Soft GND8 filter, the round filter has a soft transition. With the help of this filter, you can easily compensate for differences in brightness in your image.

However, since the gradient in a round filter cannot be shifted, as is possible with a rectangular filter by sliding it up and down within the filter holder, we have equipped the F:X Pro Soft GND8 round filter with a rotatable ring. In this way, the gradient can be adjusted on the axis of rotation.

The new F:X Pro Soft GND8 round filter is therefore an ideal addition to your camera bag if you want to be able to compensate for brightness differences in your image even with compact luggage. This filter simply screws onto your lens and offers you this flexibility!

GNDs can be used for these subjects:

• Rugged mountain landscapes
• Forest areas
• Subjects without a clearly defined horizon

Unlike normal ND filters, Soft GND filters are used for subjects where the brightness conditions have a gradient and therefore require a soft transition for a uniformly exposed image. An ideal application for a Soft GND would be, for example, a mountain landscape where the lighting conditions cause the foreground of the image to appear darker than the background – but the horizon line is not particularly clearly defined. A soft graduated neutral density filter can compensate for such a scenario fantastically.

Our Soft GND 8 has a density of 0.9 and an aperture value of 3 stops. One stop means that the amount of light falling on the sensor is reduced by one f-stop each time.
