F:X Pro Soft GND Rectangular Filter

The Rollei F:X Pro Soft GND filters are graduated neutral density filters with a gently fading gradient. GND stands for Graduated Neutral Density. With the help of this filter, you can easily compensate for brightness differences in your image.

Soft GNDs can be used for these subjects:

• Rugged mountain landscapes
• Forest areas
• Subjects without a clearly defined horizon

Soft GNDs are used (unlike normal ND filters) for subjects where the brightness ratios have a soft gradient and therefore require a gentle (soft) transition for a uniformly exposed image. An ideal application for a Soft GND would be, for example, a mountain landscape where the lighting conditions cause the foreground of the image to appear darker than the background – but where the horizon line is not particularly clearly defined. A Soft GND can perfectly compensate for such a scenario.

Our Soft GND 8 has a size of 100 x 150 millimeters (100mm rectangular filter system) and a density of 0.9 and 3 stops. One stop means that the amount of light falling on the sensor is reduced by one f-stop. Depending on the brightness differences in your subject, we also offer the intensities GND16 (4 stops/1.2) and GND32 (5 stops/1.5).

Our GND rectangular filters are equipped with our specially developed F:X Pro Coating, which ensures that your images are always tack sharp, even with extremely high-resolution cameras with 150 megapixels. The reflection-free quality of our F:X Pro filters is also 99.5 percent. With these filters, you get exemplary color fidelity – and reproduce your subject true to nature.

To be able to offer you products that you will enjoy for a long time, our filters are made of premium filter glass. Thanks to a special manufacturing process, it is legendary for its resistance and at the same time guarantees extremely high light transmission and color neutrality. Our anti-scratch layer gives the filter glass its ultimate hardness against mechanical influences and ensures that dirt from grease, water, or mud can also be removed quickly and effortlessly.

But our filters are not only scratch-resistant – they are also temperature-resistant. We have tested this under the highest quality standards in scorching heat and biting cold. In short: they are the best filters we have ever built.
