Rollei introduces Viltrox lens with standard focal length

Rollei, together with Viltrox, is presenting a new lens for Sony full-frame cameras with E-mount. The new 50mm lens is suitable as a standard lens for both beginners and professional photographers and features not only manual focus but also autofocus, including eye-detection AF for effortlessly easy portraits.

Norderstedt, 22.06.2021. The new Viltrox AF 50mm F/1.8 FE lens for Sony full-frame cameras combines a popular, universal focal length with a low weight of only 350 grams. It not only has conventional autofocus, but this is also supported by the precise eye-detection AF, which is very useful for portraits.

The aperture with a maximum aperture of F/1.8 is particularly helpful for working in poor lighting conditions. In addition to the camera's automatic control, the aperture ring, which can be set manually, contributes to further exposure control.

The STM stepper motor, which is built into the lens, ensures quiet, fast and precise shots. This makes the lens also suitable for video recordings. A USB port integrated into the optics allows new firmware updates to be uploaded.

Due to the standard focal length, which with a 50mm focal length comes closest to human viewing habits, the Viltrox lens is ideal for beginner photographers. It is particularly well suited for use in reportage, street photography, business photography and of course for portraits. In addition to the lens itself, the scope of delivery includes a lens cap and a lens hood, as well as a lens bag for safe storage.
