Rollei introduces new Viltrox lens for Sony full-frame cameras

Rollei, in collaboration with Viltrox, is launching a new lens for Sony full-frame cameras with E-mount. The Viltrox 24mm FE with a slight wide-angle offers full autofocus support, including eye-autofocus.

Norderstedt, 02.06.2021. The new AF 24mm f/1.8 FE lens for Sony full-frame cameras combines a slight wide-angle focal length with a low weight of just 340 grams.

The lens features a maximum aperture of f/1.8. This is particularly helpful when working in low light conditions and allows for better control over depth of field. The circular aperture, which has a full nine blades, enables absolutely stunning images with beautiful background bokeh.

The aperture can be adjusted in two ways: automatically or manually by rotating the aperture ring on the lens. However, the 24mm lens not only features autofocus but also supports eye-autofocus, which is very useful for portraits.

The STM stepping motor built into the lens enables fast, quiet, and very precise autofocus performance, which is also excellent for videos, for example. To ensure that photographers can enjoy the new lens for a long time, it has a particularly robust all-metal housing structure.

The 24mm lens is ideally suited for landscape photography, reportage, street photography, and portraits with a wide background. An integrated USB port allows for updating the lens's firmware. The scope of delivery includes the lens, a lens hood, a fabric pouch, a lens cap, and the instruction manual.
