The Viltrox AF 35mm F/1.2 LAB Z expands the premium series with Nikon Z-mount

Together with Viltrox, Rollei introduces the Viltrox AF 35 mm F/1.2 LAB Z – a premium lens for professional Nikon photographers. The lens is already available for the Sony E-mount and is now complemented by the Nikon Z-mount. The fast prime lens with F/1.2 aperture combines precise VCM autofocus with exceptional image quality.

Norderstedt, 18.12.2026. Together with Viltrox, Rollei introduces the Viltrox AF 35 mm F/1.2 LAB Z, a lens from the professional LAB series that targets demanding photographers and video producers with Nikon full-frame cameras. The 35 millimeter prime lens is ideal for portrait photography and offers a beautiful bokeh with shallow depth of field thanks to its exceptional F/1.2 aperture – perfect for creative image composition with a subject isolated from the background.

The lens has been specially developed for Nikon full-frame systems with Z-mount and delivers razor-sharp images across the entire image area thanks to its high-quality optical construction with 15 elements in 10 groups. The fast and almost silent VCM autofocus works precisely and reliably, both for photo and video recordings. The integrated eye autofocus function ensures perfectly focused portraits, while the short minimum focusing distance of only 34 centimeters also enables detailed close-up shots.

As part of the LAB series, the lens meets the highest quality standards and offers professional features: a customizable color screen allows for individual configuration of start-up animation, switching settings, and preview parameters, making the lens a personalized tool. Two bidirectional FN buttons can be freely assigned and provide quick access to important functions directly on the lens. Firmware updates can be installed via the USB-C port to keep the lens always up to date. The complete transfer of EXIF data enables precise post-processing and archiving. With a filter thread of 77 millimeters, filters and accessories can be easily attached, while the smallest aperture of F/22 also allows for long exposures in daylight. With compact dimensions of 12.2 x 8.9 x 8.9 centimeters, the solidly built lens weighs 910 grams.
