F:X Pro Reverse GND8 Rectangular Filter
The Rollei F:X Pro Reverse GND 8 (3 stops/0.9) is our reverse graduated neutral density filter. GND stands for Graduated Neutral Density, which refers to a filter with a transition from tint to transparency. These filters are partially coated with neutral gray, which can balance brightness differences in the image. Normally, the coating on GND filters would fade out to one side. However, "Reverse" in this case means that the gradient of the tint (coating) is reversed. This means that the coating is applied particularly strongly in the middle of the filter and fades softly to one side of the filter, but very hard to the other side.

The F:X Pro Reverse GND8 can be used for these motifs:
- Sunrise and sunset
- Beach scenes
- Motifs with a horizon where there is a lot of brightness in the middle
Unlike normal ND filters, GNDs are used for motifs where the brightness ratios have a certain gradient and therefore require different exposures for a uniformly exposed image. An ideal application for a Reverse GND would be, for example, an image in which the sun is visible and where clear lines dominate the image.
Our Reverse GND 8 is available in the size 100 x 150 millimeters (100mm rectangular filter system). It has a density of 0.9 and 3 stops in the darkened central area. One stop means that the amount of light hitting the sensor is reduced by one f-stop.
Exemplary color fidelity with an extremely fine coating
Our GND rectangular filters are equipped with our proprietary F:X Pro Coating, which ensures that your images are always tack sharp, even with extremely high-resolution cameras up to 150 megapixels. The reflection-free quality of our F:X Pro filters is 99.5 percent. With these filters, you get exemplary color fidelity – and faithfully reproduce your subject.
To provide you with products that you can enjoy for a long time, our filters are made of premium filter glass. Thanks to a special manufacturing process, it is legendary for its resistance and simultaneously guarantees extremely high light transmission and color neutrality. Our anti-scratch layer gives the filter glass its final hardness against mechanical impact and ensures that dirt from grease, water, or mud can also be removed quickly and effortlessly.
But our filters are not only scratch-resistant – they are also temperature-resistant. We have tested this under the highest quality standards in scorching heat and biting cold. In short: they are the best filters we have ever built.
