Medium GND Rectangular Filter

The Rollei F:X Pro Medium GND is a graduated neutral density filter. With graduated filters, the tint (coating) tapers off towards one side. The word 'Medium' here means that the intensity of the tint tapers off with moderate strength from one end of the filter towards the middle, and does not end with a very hard cut (Hard GND) or very soft transition (Soft GND). Our Medium GND filter is available in three different intensities:

• 100 mm Medium GND 8
• 100 mm Medium GND 16
• 100 mm Medium GND 32

The Medium GND can be used for these motifs:

• Mixed urban motifs (houses with water, bridges and sky)
• Mountain ranges with forest, sky and sun
• Overall, motifs where the horizon line is rather uneven

GNDs are used for motifs where the brightness conditions have a certain gradient and therefore require different exposure for an evenly exposed image. A classic application for a Medium GND, for example, is photographing a city center, which has many different elements and brightnesses and therefore needs to be classified exactly between Hard and Soft GND. The Medium GND balances such a scenario.

Our GND rectangular filters are equipped with our specially developed F:X Pro Coating, which ensures that your images are always razor-sharp, even with extremely high-resolution cameras up to 150 megapixels. The reflection-free quality of our F:X Pro filters is also 99.5 percent. With these filters, you achieve exemplary color fidelity – and capture your motif true to life.

To provide you with products that you will enjoy for a long time, our filters are made of premium filter glass. Thanks to a special manufacturing process, it is legendary for its durability while guaranteeing extremely high light transmission and color neutrality. Our anti-scratch layer gives the filter glass its final hardness against mechanical influences and ensures that dirt from grease, water, or mud can be removed quickly and effortlessly.

But our filters are not only scratch-resistant – they are also temperature-resistant. We have tested this under the highest quality standards in scorching heat and even biting cold. In short: they are the best filters we have ever built.
