Short Centre Column for Rollei C5i Tripods
Long centre columns on tripods are often the reason for a rather large packed size, which is generally undesirable, especially for travel tripods. In addition, long centre columns cause camera movement when fully extended. Most photographers who use tripods therefore know that for good stability (e.g. for long exposures), the centre column should be extended by a maximum of one hand's width above the tripod shoulder.
To address these two important reasons, we offer particularly short centre columns for our C5i Carbon and C5i Aluminum tripods. This allows you to get particularly close to your subject when shooting at ground level, and also minimises vibrations that can ruin your image during long exposures.
