Short Center Column for Compact Traveler No. 1 Tripod

Large center columns on tripods often lead to a rather high packing size, which is generally undesirable, especially for travel tripods. Additionally, large center columns cause camera shake when fully extended. Most photographers who use tripods know this: for good stability (e.g., for long exposures), the center column should be extended no more than a hand's width above the tripod shoulder.

To address these two important reasons, we offer specially short center columns for our Compact Traveler No 1 Carbon and Compact Traveler No 1 Aluminum tripods. This allows you to get particularly close to your subject when shooting at ground level and also minimizes vibrations that can ruin your image during long exposures.
