F:X Pro GND Set + Astroklar Filter

There are many photographic motifs where our various GND filters (graduated neutral density filters) can be used. With the F:X Pro GND Set + Astroklar Limited Edition, we offer you a set that specifically covers subjects with an indistinct horizon, thus requiring the use of our Soft GNDs and Medium GNDs. With the included F:X Pro Soft GND8, Soft GND16, Medium GND8, and Medium GND16, you can easily choose precisely the rectangular filter your subject needs. The set also includes our 100 x 100 mm Astroklar filter, which can elevate your night photography to the next level.

For these subjects, Soft GNDs can be used:

• Rugged mountain landscapes
• Forest areas
• Subjects without a clearly defined horizon

Soft GNDs are used (unlike normal ND filters) for subjects where brightness conditions have a soft gradient and therefore require a gentle transition for an evenly exposed image. An ideal application for a Soft GND is, for example, a mountain landscape where lighting conditions make the foreground of the image appear darker than the background – but where the horizon line is not particularly clearly defined. A Soft GND can wonderfully compensate for such a scenario.

For these subjects, Medium GNDs can be used:

• Mixed urban motifs (houses with water, bridges, and sky)
• Mountain ranges with forest, sky, and sun
• Subjects where the horizon line is rather uneven

A classic application for a Medium GND is, for example, a photograph of a city center, which has many different elements and brightnesses and therefore must be classified exactly between Hard and Soft GND. The Medium GND compensates for such a scenario.

For these subjects, the Astroklar can be used:

Thanks to a special coating, the Astroklar rectangular filter largely reduces unwanted yellow and orange light components, ensuring that even intricate structures and transitions are still properly rendered and do not "break out."

The night and star-filled sky or partially only sparsely lit building panoramas gain significantly in contrast and detail. Even extremely distant and barely visible stars can appear clear and sharp in the astro-photo. Due to the special anti-light pollution coating, the images become slightly cooler, with blue and green tones predominating.

Like all GND rectangular filters of the F:X Pro series, we have also equipped the filters of our F:X Pro GND Set + Astroklar Limited Edition with our developed F:X Pro Coating, which ensures that your images are always razor-sharp, even with extremely high-resolution cameras with 150 megapixels. The reflection-free property of our F:X Pro filters is also 99.5 percent. With these filters, you get exemplary color fidelity – and capture your subject true to life.

Due to technical reasons, the Astroklar filter included in the set features a double-sided nanocoating that prevents reflections and is also water, oil, and dirt-repellent.

To offer you products that you will enjoy for a long time, our GND filters are made of premium filter glass. Through a special manufacturing process, it is legendarily resistant and at the same time guarantees extremely high light transmission and color neutrality. Our anti-scratch layer gives the filter glass its final hardness against mechanical influences and ensures that dirt from grease, water, or mud can be removed quickly and effortlessly.

But our rectangular filters are not only scratch-resistant – but also temperature-resistant. We have tested this under the highest quality standards in scorching heat and biting cold. In short: they are the best filters we have ever built.
