Retractable Greenscreen (Chroma Key Panel)
At Rollei, we're bringing Hollywood right to your home with our Greenscreen measuring 145 x 190 cm, with a packed size of 157 x 21 x 11.5 cm. (Total erected screen: 198 x 157 x 40 cm)
Greenscreens are primarily used to better separate people from the background during digital post-production of videos and to integrate them into a new background. This is used, for example, in Hollywood films when an actor is supposed to ride a dragon in the final film – even though he was originally sitting on a wooden frame. Greenscreens are also frequently used by news anchors.
To understand how these backgrounds technically work, one must bear in mind that human skin has no green component; rather, skin color is located almost oppositely on the other side of the color scale. For this reason, human skin can (theoretically) be very easily cut out from a green background.
The greenscreen is also very easy to light, as the neon color itself is already very bright. So, among other things, you can use the greenscreen excellently for backgrounds that should be bright later, so that the color difference is not too strong and you don't have too much post-processing.
Our Chroma Key Panel is conveniently hidden in a long, compact metal casing – until you need the screen. Then you can easily take it out of its housing and pull it up. It can stand freely, as there is a stand attached to the back of the greenscreen that holds it without needing additional fasteners.
Finished with your production? Then simply let the screen disappear back into its case.
