This new compact speedlight combines true studio performance with maximum mobility and boasts 100 watt-seconds of flash power, a flash duration of up to 1/55,600 second, and a high-resolution 2.3-inch touchscreen display. The HS Freeze 1X is available in a universal version compatible with Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, and Olympus cameras, as well as with a Sony hot shoe , and is designed for photographers who demand the highest levels of performance, flexibility, and ease of use.
The HS Freeze 1X combines the power of a studio flash with the portability of a speedlight. With 100 watt-seconds of flash power and a guide number up to 60, it delivers professional results even in challenging lighting conditions. The manually and automatically adjustable zoom range of 28 to 105 millimeters and the round flash tube ensure natural, even light with a beam angle of up to 120 degrees – ideal for authentic colors and expressive shadows.
In Freeze mode, the HS Freeze 1X achieves an extremely short flash duration of up to 1/55,600 of a second, thus capturing even the fastest movements with razor-sharp clarity. In continuous shooting mode, up to 60 shots per second are possible.

The large 2.3-inch HD touchscreen with its clear menu navigation allows for easy and quick operation – even in the hectic environment of a shooting session. The user interface is available in either German or English and provides immediate access to all important settings. This intuitive control is complemented by an integrated 3-watt LED modeling light with three brightness levels, a color temperature of 5,000 Kelvin, and up to 2,100 lux, enabling precise light previews.
The HS Freeze 1X is available in two versions: The universal version features a multi-compatible hot shoe and works directly with cameras from Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, and Olympus. Sony users have a choice: either use the universal version with a separately available adapter or opt for the dedicated Sony version , which has an integrated Sony hot shoe and requires no adapter. Both versions feature an integrated 2.4 GHz wireless receiver with master mode (31 channels, 6 groups) and slave mode (31 channels, 16 groups), as well as optical slave triggering (S1/S2) for maximum versatility.
The replaceable 3,200 mAh lithium-polymer battery provides enough power for up to 480 flashes at full power, ensuring reliable performance even during extended shoots. The motorized zoom and tilting flash head allow for precise lighting adjustments, while the new Quick-Freeze Mount system enables tool-free light modifier changes in seconds.
The HS Freeze 1X supports versatile flash modes such as TTL for perfect automatic exposure, manual mode for precise control, HSS for creative wide apertures in sunlight, and stroboscopic functions. Synchronization can be set to normal, HSS, or first and second curtain.
For even greater flexibility, Rollei offers a range of accessories: The replacement battery for the HS Freeze 1X (RRP €49.99) provides extra battery power for extended shoots. The new bounce card for the HS Freeze 1X / Q1 (RRP €12.99) enables soft lighting for natural colors, includes color gels for atmospheric looks, and can be mounted quickly and securely thanks to the Quick-Freeze-Mount.
